Privacy Policy
This privacy policy informs you about which personal data is processed when you use the iOS app "Dice Block", for what purposes and on what legal basis.

2. Overview
Dice Block is a puzzle game. No user account is required. We do not operate any servers of our own for the app, do not use any analytics or tracking tools of our own and do not receive any personal data from you ourselves.
The app is free and financed through advertising. For this and for managing your privacy choices we use services provided by Google; the app is distributed through Apple's App Store. Optionally, you can also use Apple Game Center to compare your results with other players on a leaderboard. Details are set out in the following sections.
3. Storage on your device
The app stores information required for the game and its features locally on your device — in particular your game progress, best scores and settings as well as your privacy choices. We have no access to this information.
The legal basis is Section 25(2) no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) and, where personal data is concerned, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
4. Advertising through Google AdMob
To fund the app, we show advertising through Google AdMob, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). This includes ads between game rounds as well as videos you can choose to watch to receive a reward in the game.
In this context, the following data in particular may be processed: your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and advertising identifiers — such as your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), if you have allowed this —, information about your device and the app, information about ads shown and your interactions with them, and diagnostic data.
The processing serves to deliver and measure advertising, to cap ad frequency, to prevent fraud and abuse and — only with your consent — to personalise advertising. Google also processes the data partly under its own responsibility.
Where consent is required, the processing is based on your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and — for storing information on your device or accessing it — Section 25(1) TDDDG. Operations that are strictly necessary for technical delivery, security and fraud prevention are based on Section 25(2) TDDDG and, where personal data is processed, on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in financing the free app through secure and reliable ad delivery.
Further information can be found in Google's Privacy Policy and under How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
5. Consent management
Where required by law — in particular in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — we obtain your consent through the Google User Messaging Platform. Your choices are stored on your device and, to the extent necessary to honour them, transmitted to Google and the participating advertising partners. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(c) in conjunction with Art. 7(1) GDPR and Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG.
You are not obliged to give your consent. Without consent you can use the app without restriction; you will then receive non-personalised or limited advertising. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future — in the app under Settings → Privacy Preferences.
6. App Tracking Transparency
Before the app or an integrated service accesses your device's advertising identifier or carries out tracking within Apple's meaning, the app asks for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. If you decline, the advertising identifier is not used. You can change your decision at any time in the iOS settings under "Privacy & Security → Tracking".
7. Apple Game Center
The app supports Game Center, a service of Apple Inc. and, where applicable, Apple Distribution International Ltd. ("Apple"). If you are signed in to Game Center on your device, the app connects to Game Center, transmits your game results to Apple and shows you the leaderboard. In this context, in particular your Game Center identifier, player name, profile picture, scores and rank are processed — and on the leaderboard the corresponding information of other players. Depending on your Game Center settings, other players can see your player name, profile picture and results.
Game Center is operated by Apple under its own responsibility; we do not receive any personal data ourselves in this context. The legal basis for transmitting your results and displaying the leaderboard is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR and Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG.
Using Game Center is voluntary. Without signing in you can use the app without restriction; only the leaderboard is then unavailable. You can sign out at any time in the iOS settings under "Game Center" and choose there who can see your profile. Further information can be found in Apple's Privacy Policy.
8. App Store
The app is distributed through Apple's App Store. When you download the app and use the App Store, Apple Inc. and, where applicable, Apple Distribution International Ltd. process data under their own responsibility. Further information can be found in Apple's Privacy Policy.
9. Recipients and transfers to third countries
Within the scope described, recipients of personal data are Google, the advertising partners selected through consent management, and Apple. If you use Game Center, other players can also see your player name, profile picture and results. Data may be transferred to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area, in particular to the USA. Such transfers are based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Retention
Information stored on your device remains there until you delete the app. Where it forms part of a device backup managed by Apple, your settings and Apple's terms apply. The retention period for data that Google and Apple process under their own responsibility is governed by their privacy terms.
11. Your rights
Subject to the statutory conditions, you have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia. You may equally contact the supervisory authority at your place of residence.
For privacy enquiries you can reach us at any time at info@bootsbyte.com.
12. Automated decision-making
No decision-making based solely on automated processing that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you (Art. 22 GDPR) takes place. If you have consented to personalised advertising, Google and the advertising partners may create usage profiles for advertising purposes.
13. Changes
We update this privacy policy when the app, the integrated services or the legal requirements change. The version published at this address applies.
